This is a very vigorous plant with large fruits, high productivity and medium-late ripening, most widespread in the Campania region of Italy, although it has proven to adapt well to other areas and altitudes as well.
It is one of the finest cultivars and was granted Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status in 1997.
Harvesting begins in the first 10 days of September and continues until mid-October. Its average shelling yield is 46-48%.
